CRRC Georgia in partnership with CRRC Armenia will start a new research project entitled “Taking Partly Free Voters Seriously: Autocratic Response to Voter Preferences in Armenia and Georgia”. This two-year regional project is funded by Academic Swiss Caucasus Net (ASCN) and aims at comparing interactions between actors and institutions in Armenia and Georgia. The research will focus on four election periods in Armenia and Georgia between 2007 and 2013 and will exlore how a regime’s policy responses to the electorate’s preferences are mediated by the regime’s institutional environment. The study will use a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods including: policy analysis, survey data analysis, in depth interviews and experimental research. Research findings will be systematically presented at different conferences and workshops locally and internationally and will result in several publications.
