The report assesses attitudes towards the National Animal Identification and Traceability System in Georgia.
The report is based on a household survey of rural livestock farmers and focus groups with male and female farmers. The data suggests that Georgian rural livestock farmers are more consumers of livestock and livestock products than its sellers.
The assessment project is part of the larger FAO project, “Technical Assistance to Support the Establishment of a National Animal Identification and Traceability System (NAITS) in Georgia” (GCP/GEO/009/SWI), which is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Austrian Development Agency (ADA).
