Project objective: Cultural Heritage and Identities of Europe’s Future (CHIEF) is an international research project, which aims to study cultural literacy of young people from 14 to 25 and how it affects their cultural participation. More specifically, the research project explores how young people interact with European cultural heritage in various educational contexts (school, family, friends, civil sector and cultural heritage sites). The research project also studies the experience of young people with representatives of other cultures.
Research design: Quantitative survey of young people in schools;
In-depth interviews of schoolchildren and school teachers;
Focus groups with young people;
Participant study of young people who take Georgian dance and Khridol (Georgian martial arts) classes;
Observation on young groups who create "new culture".
Output: The project outputs are accessible on the project website. It includes policy briefs and case study reports of each participant country.
