Junior Fellowship Program

The CRRC-Georgia Junior Fellowship Program (JFP), launched in 2009, is a 5-9 month program offering extensive work experience and training to selected fellows. It is a unique opportunity for social science-oriented youth looking to gain skill sets that are largely missing in Georgia, such as the ability to analyze complex issues quickly and comprehensively, proficiency in essential computer programs (including statistical programs), and the opportunity to work with extraordinarily experienced and committed colleagues and superiors. Junior Research Fellows are required to contribute to complex research projects on issues that are important to Georgia’s future, write analytical policy papers, be active team members, and work hard.

Irina Vardanashvili

Irina Vardanashvili holds two Bachelor’s degrees: one in Business Administration in Banks and Finances and another in Psychology. Currently she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Psychological Anthropology at Tbilisi State University. During her studies, she has taken part in various sociological and psychological research projects. In March 2012, she became a Junior Fellow at CRRC. Her research interests include political, cultural and religious issues.

Nino Kerkadze

Nino Kerkadze holds a BA in Social Sciences from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, and an MA from Ilia State University. Her specialization is in sociology. Before joining CRRC’s Junior Fellowship Program, Nino was involved in various marketing and sociological research projects. She has also worked as a project assistant for the European Centre for Minority Issues. Her research interests include issues of various types of minority groups.

Gvantsa Nadiradze

Gvantsa Nadiradze earned her B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Human Resources Management at Ilia State University. Currently, she is studying for her M.A. in Sociology at Ilia State University. While she was a student, she was engaged in different sociological and marketing research projects. Her research interests are issues of gender based problems, value systems, and social capital. She is also interested in sociological theories, especially in modern sociology.

Salome Minesashvili

Salome Minesashvili holds a B.A. degree in International Relations from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. During her B.A., Salome spent a year at Southeast Community College in Nebraska, USA as an exchange student majoring in Political Science. Currently, Salome is an M.A. student at Tbilisi State University, and is expected to obtain her Master’s degree in Social Sciences focusing on Transformation in the South Caucasus. Prior to joining CRRC, Salome has done internships for Peace Corps Georgia and the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs Parliamentary program. Her research interests include foreign policy analysis, the role of culture and traditions in the process of transformation, and regionalism.

Merab Bochoidze

Merab Bochoidze finished the T. Gegelia Physics and Mathematics Public Boarding School of Tbilisi State University in 2004. In 2008 he earned a B.B.A. (majoring in Management) from the Caucasus School of Business. Before joining CRRC’s Junior Research Fellowship Program, Merab was involved in marketing research, and contributed to the development of the Georgian-language Wikipedia. His research interests include social economics, marketing, and interpersonal relationships.

Sophio Mtchedlishvili

Sophio Mtchedlishvili holds a B.A. in Social Sciences from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, and her specialization is Social Psychology. Sophio is currently studying for her M.A. in International Affairs at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA). Since February 2011 she has been a Junior Fellow at CRRC. Her research interests are mainly related to politics, national security, and social issues.

Tsisana Khundadze

Tsisana Khundadze holds a B.A. in Social Sciences and a M.A. in Psychology from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Currently, she is a PHD student at TSU and her specialization is social, political and cultural psychology. Before becoming a Junior Fellow at CRRC in 2011 she worked on different projects as an assistant at ISR and Ars Magna. She mainly participated in social and organizational studies. Her research interests are related to the means of mass communication and political culture.

Vazha Burduli

Vazha Burduli earned a diploma in Law from the Georgian Humanitarian-Economic University in 2001, and a B.A. in the Humanities (majoring in American Studies) from the International Black Sea University in 2008. Prior to joining CRRC he worked as a translator/English version copy editor for Business News magazine, and also as a translator for the Public Defender’s Office, with which he continues to cooperate.  His research interests include the Georgian national liberation movement during the Soviet period and recent Georgian history.
