SPSS Crash Course
In order to use Caucasus Barometer (CB), you need to know SPSS, a statistical software package, which at first sight looks quite complicated. But actually, it is easy!
With our SPSS Crash Course you can learn within 20 minutes about 80% of the tricks you need to work with the CB. You will be able to get both tables and graphical output through this statistical software, i.e. raw numbers and attractive graphs for presentations. Below you can find a series of 5 minute video introductions that will help you get started.

More advanced handling of SPSS
You have done the basics, you can extract basic data and do some cross-tabulations. Now you want to make further steps into extracting data. Here, we give you an opportunity to explore further aspects of our data set. With these modules, you are getting onto track for confident SPSS usage.
Looking at Some Respondents, not All
How can you get data from just one country? If you want just rural respondents (or capital), how do you do that? Here we show you how to “select cases”, in four minutes.

Comparing Different Groups
Now let’s say you want to compare countries, or female and male respondents. How would you do that? It’s called “splitting the file”, and in five minutes you can use this on a fairly advanced level (comparing, say, male and female attitudes to religion in Georgia).

Simplifying Complexity
Is the output you are getting too complex? Here is a great way of simplifying things: recoding variables allows you to group responses (such as: years of birth) in useful categories. An essential skills for SPSS, in about six minutes.
