Katharine Khamhaengwong

Katharine Khamhaengwong has an MA in Central Eurasian Studies from Indiana University, as well as a BA in International Relations and Middle East Studies from Tulane University. She received a Fulbright grant to conduct master’s research in Khulo and Dmanisi on the experiences of rural Muslims in contemporary Georgia. In addition to her international fellowship at the CRRC, she works as a freelance writer and as editor of Binding Hook, a publication focused on digital and emerging technologies and security in Europe. She also taught English in mountainous Adjara for two years and has volunteered with Batumi Raptor Count. Her research has largely focused on Georgian Muslim communities, but she is interested in religious, ethnic, and linguistic minorities in the South Caucasus more broadly, as well as food cultures and environmental issues. She has written the Georgia chapter of Brill’s annual Yearbook of Muslims in Europe since 2022.

Tinatin Gagoshidze

Tinatin Gagoshidze holds a master's degree in applied social psychology and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tbilisi State University. During her studies, she conducted both qualitative and quantitative research. Her master's thesis focused on the relationship between school teachers' perceived social status, social identity, and well-being. Tinatin has experience in service development and monitoring. She was also a youth team member at the NGO “Prevention for Progress,” where she worked on several priority areas, including child welfare and juvenile justice.
