Project objective:
The Impact Evaluation of the Civic Education program "Momavlis Taoba" involves administering a student assessment in schools at the beginning of the school year (baseline) and at the end of the school year (endline) for two consecutive years. pact Evaluation of this Civic Education program involves administering a student assessment in schools at the beginning of the school year (baseline) and at the end of the school year (endline) for two consecutive years.
Research design: Self-administered survey of 9th and 10th grade students in about 241 schools of Georgia; self-administered survey of civic education teachers in schools.

The impact evaluation will:

  • Be administered in about 240 sample schools (including Control Schools and Treatment Schools.)
  • Approximately 12,000 students in grades 9 and 10 within and teachers (teaching Civic Education Program) from about 240 schools will be asked to participate in the assessment.
  • Students will be asked about what they are learning in civics class and their opinions and experiences on civic engagement and citizenship in Georgia.
Output: All of the student responses will be summarized into a report which will be used to provide USAID/Georgia and PH International about the progress of the program is making and the adjustments they may want to consider making to strengthen civic education instruction in Georgia.
