Food safety in Georgia: shortcomings and different dimensions

Project objective: The project studies views of different stakeholders about the current situation in Georgia in terms of food safety, shortcomings on the legislative and executive levels and attitudes of consumers. The issue of food safety was put on the agenda under the framework of cooperation and free trade relations with the European Union after Georgia signed the Association Agreement with the EU on June 27 2014.
Research design: Focus groups with the following groups: representatives of laboratories, specialists, food product importers and producers as well as consumers in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi.
Output: Focus group report
