Wednesday, 2 October, 2013 at 6:15pmISET/CRRC Georgia, Zandukeli St. 16, Tbilisi, GEORGIASeveral countries are in the process of implementing tobacco control policies such as smoke-free air policies, increased taxation, regulations on advertising, licensing of tobacco importers and producers, and graphic health warning labels on tobacco products. Interestingly, several countries are facing similar challenges in implementing some of these policies; on the other hand, distinct opportunities have emerged that have allowed certain countries to make unexpected movements toward achieving these tobacco control goals. This talk will highlight the trends in Georgia as well as draw some comparisons with other countries, such as the US.
