"A New Chance for Georgian Democracy?"
Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 6:15pmISET/CRRC Georgia, Zandukeli St. 16, Tbilisi, GEORGIA This talk will be based on Charles Fairbanks' recent article in the Journal of Democracy on the Georgian Parliamentary Elections in October 2012. Charles H. Fairbanks Jr. is a Professor at Ilia State University in Tbilisi and a Senior Fellow of the Hudson Institute. He was previously a research professor of international relations at Johns Hopkins/SAIS and a director of the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute. He has served as a deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of State and member of the department's policy planning staff. He was a foreign policy adviser to the Reagan campaign in 1980 and the Bush campaign in 1988. Fairbanks has served on the political science faculty of both Yale University and the University of Toronto.

It is co-organized by the Caucasus Research Resource Centers (CRRC), the American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS, and the American Research Institute of the South Caucasus (ARISC).
