Job Opening: Research Director at CRRC - deadline extended until June 22, COB!
CRRC is recruiting a Research Director (RD). This is a unique opportunity to participate in, and contribute to, a range of innovative and rigorous research projects that CRRC is undertaking. Based at CRRC Georgia, the RD will also contribute to research at CRRC Armenia & Azerbaijan.
 Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Country Director of CRRC Georgia, the Research Director (RD) contributes to on-going research, especially in surveys; generates research output in various forms (reports, data briefs, blog, presentations); and leads methodological innovation and training. In all of these fields, the RD builds on CRRC’s extensive track record of success. Some contribution to research project management and operations is part of the profile. A significant amount of time will also be dedicated to contributing to research projects at CRRC Armenia and Azerbaijan, with occasional travel to Baku and Yerevan.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Works with CRRC teams to develop and enhance ongoing research and provides insight and scholarly innovation, especially in survey research.
  • Helps to generate research output, calibrated to the highest standards and in a range of different formats to reach a broad audience for CRRC’s work. 
  • Leads and contributes to capacity building in research methodology, based on CRRC’s innovative methods. 
  • Contributes to additional public outreach internationally and locally, and contributes to regular production and updates of CRRC outreach and PR materials, including a monthly e-bulletin, CRRC website and regular blogs. 
  • Contributes to research project management as appropriate, to ensure maximum impact of CRRC research projects. 
  • Occasionally represents CRRC and its research at scholarly seminars, conferences, and other events as needed, both nationally and internationally.
  • Undertakes other duties as needed to further CRRC’s overall goals. 
Qualifications
Education:  Educational attainment must be to the level of a PhD, preferably in the social sciences with extensive independent research experience. In exceptional cases, a candidate with a Master's degree may be considered if there is extensive independent research on a level equivalent with a PhD. 
Experience: 
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible and demonstrated results in research in an international context, with an application of quantitative research.
  • Outstanding organizational, written and oral communication skills are required. Candidate must present strong evidence of being a successful team-player. 
Other:   Native or near-native English skills and strong skills in written expression are extremely important. Knowledge of Russian and/or Caucasian languages is desirable.
